Impact of gamification on mathematics learning in basic education
Publicado
2025-07-18

In the current educational paradigm, gamification emerges as an innovative strategy to enhance learning. By integrating playful elements into educational contexts, it aims to motivate and foster participatory and meaningful learning. This research focuses on exploring how gamification impacts the academic performance in mathematics of seventh-grade students at Liceo Cristiano. The study employed a mixed-method design, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze students' perception and performance. Findings indicate that the majority of students perceive gamified activities positively, noting improvements in their understanding of mathematics and usefulness for their learning. Additionally, high student interest in gamification was observed, though areas for enhancing clarity of instructions and adaptability of activities based on students' levels were identified. These findings underscore the potential effectiveness of gamification in enhancing participation and performance in mathematics.
