Mathematics education in secondary school faces persistent challenges, particularly regarding algebraic thinking. This study aimed to compare competencies in solving problems of regularity, equivalence, and change between the implementation and non-implementation of an "Escape Room." The research followed a quantitative approach with an applied, explanatory, and experimental design, involving an experimental group of 31 students and a control group of 30, selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Findings revealed that, in the pre-test, both groups were at the "Beginning" level. In contrast, in the post-test, 74.2% of the experimental group reached the "Proficient" level and eliminated the "Beginning" level, while 56.7% of the control group remained at the "Beginning" level. In conclusion, the Escape Room as an instructional strategy constitutes an effective pedagogical resource for the development of algebraic thinking in secondary education.
