El estrés académico y la ansiedad generalizada constituyen problemas de salud mental con alta prevalencia en la población universitaria. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la relación entre el estrés académico y la ansiedad generalizada en estudiantes de los primeros ciclos de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad Nacional de Ucayali, Perú. El estudio adoptó un diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional con una muestra de 119 estudiantes de primero y tercer ciclo. Los instrumentos incluyeron el Inventario SISCO y la escala GAD-7. Los resultados mostraron niveles moderados de estrés académico (79.83%) y de ansiedad generalizada (47.06%). El análisis reveló una correlación positiva moderada entre ambas variables (ρ=0.428, p<0.001). Se concluye que la dimensión de síntomas mantiene la asociación más fuerte con la ansiedad generalizada.
Academic stress and generalized anxiety are highly prevalent mental health concerns among university students. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between academic stress and generalized anxiety among students in the early semesters of the Faculty of Education at the National University of Ucayali, Peru. The study employed a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design with a sample of 119 first- and third-semester students. The instruments included the SISCO Inventory and the GAD-7 scale. The results showed moderate levels of academic stress (79.83%) and generalized anxiety (47.06%). The analysis revealed a moderate positive correlation between the two variables (ρ = 0.428, p < 0.001). It is concluded that the symptom dimension exhibits the strongest association with generalized anxiety.
